The city of Vicksburg, Mississippi, is located in the centre of the Deep South. Blues musicians Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters were born here, and local history is celebrated in unique ways. The National Military Park honours the location of a well-known Civil War engagement in 1863. Along the 16-mile circuit are numerous memorials, the rebuilt iron warship USS Cairo, and an information centre. The city offers the greatest dining, shopping, and cultural experiences, all of which draw tourists and tell the tale of the past.

The oldest structure in Vicksburg, Mississippi, is the Old Court House Museum-Eva W. Davis Memorial. Constructed by slaves in 1858, it has hosted numerous political figures throughout the years, such as William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. The building is open for tours by visitors.

The Historic Downtown area can be explored in a number of ways, such as via riverboat or carriage ride. In addition to being a living museum, it is a popular tourist destination with contemporary amenities, including restaurants, casinos, and antique shops. Renovated in 1890, the Biedenharn Museum of Coca-Cola Memorabilia is located in the building where the beverage was initially bottled. In addition to a 1900 soda fountain, a gift shop, and an 1890 confectionery store, the actual bottling process is on show.

The city offers both independent stores with a local flair and national chains for a varied shopping experience. Well-known eateries and retail establishments like JC Penney, EB Games, and Garfield’s Restaurant and Pub can be found in the enclosed Pemberton Square Mall. Another shopping destination is Vicksburg Mississippi Factory Outlets, which has stores like Book Warehouse, Claire’s Boutique, GAP, and Factory Brand Shoes.

The Riverfest music and arts and crafts show is a great day out for the families in Vicksburg Mississippi. with games for the kids, hand crafted jewellery stalls, a kayak race and a jazz festival. There are also exhibits on food from around the world. Local history is on display at the Catfish Row Landin. These outdoor exhibits include art murals, fountains, gardens and play areas.

The Sweet Olive, a riverboat that offers tours of the river from the shoreline, is a popular destination for tourists.  There are sizable viewing windows and a guide that provides information. When there are heaters on board, the boat can survive the winter. Additionally, tours are offered around sunset, which is a beautiful time to be on the river. It is possible to reserve private events, such as wedding receptions.
